  • 4 cups hot water Just below boiling
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjust to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt To enhance flavor
Creamy Finish
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk Try brands like 'Carnation' for a creamy texture
  • 2-3 tablespoons evaporated milk Adds richness; 'Carnation' or 'Pet' are great options
  • 1 pint glass ice Packed full to keep it refreshingly cool

Preparation
  1. Steep the Thai tea leaves in hot water for 5 minutes.
  2. Strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer into another bowl.
  3. Add sugar and salt to the strained tea, stirring until dissolved. Allow the tea to cool.
Serving
  1. For Thailand Style: Fill a glass with ice, pour in 3/4 cup cooled tea, stir in condensed milk, and drizzle evaporated milk on top.
  2. For American Style: Fill a glass with ice, pour in 3/4 cup cooled tea, add sugar and drizzle half-and-half on top.

Notes

This Thai iced tea pairs beautifully with spicy Asian dishes. For presentation, serve it in tall glasses with colorful straws and garnished with a mint sprig. It can be enjoyed fresh or stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
