  • 1 lb ground beef Opt for 80/20 beef for the best balance of flavor and fat.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Use McCormick’s for bold flavor or make your own.
Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or Mexican blend works well.
  • 1 can black beans, drained Look for low-sodium brands.
  • 1 cup salsa Use your favorite brand or homemade for freshness.
  • 1 bag tortilla chips Choose sturdy chips like Tostitos.
  • 1 cup guacamole Homemade or store-bought for creaminess.
  • 1 cup sour cream Preferred brand: Daisy.
  • 1 bunch cilantro, chopped Brightens the dish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef for 6-8 minutes until no longer pink.
  2. Add taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water, stir and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a baking dish, layer tortilla chips, followed by taco meat, drained black beans, and salsa.
  4. Top with shredded cheese and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes until bubbly.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with guacamole, sour cream, and cilantro.
