Preparation
  1. Layer the sliced potatoes and chopped onions at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Place the cubed steak on top of the potatoes, spreading them out evenly.
  3. Sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the beef broth over the mixture.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours.
  6. About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and cover to melt.
  7. Serve warm, garnishing with fresh herbs if available.
