Preparation
- Spread the mayo or cream cheese on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer the cucumber slices on one slice of bread.
- Add the tomato slices on top of the cucumber.
- Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs if desired.
- Complete the sandwich by placing the second slice of bread on top, mayo/cream cheese side down.
- Cut the sandwich in half using a sharp knife to reveal the beautiful layers inside, and serve immediately.
Notes
For an even richer flavor, use room temperature butter or softened cream cheese. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 hours or in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
