Ingredients
  

Beef and Marinade
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced Opt for grass-fed for quality flavor. Flank steak is a good alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce For gluten-free version, substitute with tamari.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Ensure it’s made from real oysters.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Cooking Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Use a high smoke point oil.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh will provide more flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional) Drizzle for added flavor.
Serving
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine rice Serve with jasmine rice or alternatives.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch, mixing well. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook undisturbed for 2 minutes, then stir-fry until browned.
  2. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until soft but crunchy.
  5. Return the beef to the pan, pour in beef broth and hoisin sauce. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil if using, and serve over jasmine rice.

Notes

For better texture, organize your ingredients before cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
