Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature Use a good quality cream cheese for the best flavor and texture.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature High-quality butter, like KerryGold, adds richness.
  • 1 tablespoon molasses Unsulfured molasses is recommended for best flavor.
  • 4 cups confectioners sugar Sifted for smoothness; can substitute with powdered erythritol for low sugar.

Method

Preparation
  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the cream cheese, butter, and molasses.
  2. Start mixing on low speed until smooth, about 2-3 minutes, scraping the sides as needed.
  3. Gradually add confectioners sugar, about 1 cup at a time, beating on low until fully incorporated for about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Once all sugar is added, increase speed to medium and beat until creamy, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or add more molasses as desired.
