Preparation
- Chill your lowball glasses in the freezer for about 5 minutes.
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with crushed ice.
- Pour 4 ounces of whiskey, 2 ounces of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 2 ounces of pure maple syrup into the shaker.
- Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
- Remove the glasses from the freezer and fill them with more crushed ice.
- Strain the cocktail mixture into the prepared glasses.
- Garnish with a fresh slice of lemon on the rim or float it on top.

Notes
For a smoother texture, consider double-straining your cocktail to remove pulp from the lemon juice. Avoid over-shaking to prevent dilution.
