Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and kosher salt.
  3. In a stand mixer, combine the butter and brown sugar and mix until smooth and creamy (1-2 minutes).
  4. Add the egg and mix until fully incorporated.
  5. Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and maple extract, and beat for another minute.
  6. Gradually mix in the flour mixture on low speed.
  7. Scoop and roll dough into balls, placing them on prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 8-9 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly doughy.
  2. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Glazing
  1. In a bowl, mix confectioners’ sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, maple extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over cooled cookies.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
