  • 2 slices slices of bread Sturdy white loaf, sourdough, or country loaf.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Mozzarella or cheddar are classics.
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries Wash and pat dry to avoid excess moisture.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Softened for easy spreading.
  • Honey or maple syrup Optional for drizzling.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread generously.
  2. Place bread slices butter-side down on a clean surface and sprinkle half the shredded cheese on the unbuttered side of one slice.
  3. Scatter blueberries over the cheese and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up, and gently press to compact the sandwich.
Cooking
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place the sandwich in the pan and cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side until golden brown, for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove from the pan and let it rest for about a minute before slicing and serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar on the butter before grilling for a sweet twist. Avoid overstuffing your sandwich for a better grilling experience.
