Ingredients
  

For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup as an alternative
  • 2.5 tablespoons soy sauce use low-sodium or coconut aminos for gluten-free
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced fresh is best compared to dried
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 inch piece fresh ginger, grated optional but highly recommended
  • to taste salt & freshly ground black pepper be light with salt due to soy sauce
For the Salmon
  • 1.5 pounds salmon fillet fresh or thawed frozen salmon recommended

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a casserole dish, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, garlic powder, grated ginger, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Add the salmon to the dish, turning it a few times to coat it in the glaze. Cover and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes, turning halfway through.
Cooking
  1. Place the uncovered dish in the oven and bake for 12–20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon fillet and your preferred doneness.
  2. Halfway through baking, baste the salmon with the pan juices to keep it moist and evenly glazed.
  3. Once the salmon reaches your desired doneness, remove it from the oven and baste again before serving.

Notes

Serve with steamed rice or quinoa, and pair with a fresh salad or steamed veggies for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
