Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Place the chicken breasts in the greased dish and spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the top.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the sour cream layer.
  6. Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes.
  7. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (73.8°C).
  8. Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. You can prepare this dish a day ahead; just cover it tightly and refrigerate before baking.
