Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Place the chicken breasts in the greased dish and spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the sour cream layer.
- Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (73.8°C).
- Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. You can prepare this dish a day ahead; just cover it tightly and refrigerate before baking.
