- In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Whisk together until fully combined.
- In a food processor, add 1 cup of cottage cheese and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold the blended cottage cheese into the flour mixture. Mix until a cohesive dough forms. If it feels too sticky, add a sprinkle of flour as you go.
- On a lightly floured surface, divide the dough into four equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and poke a hole in the center to create a classic bagel shape.
- Brush the tops and sides of the bagels with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning if desired.
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F. Place the bagels in the basket, making sure not to overcrowd. Cook for about 13 minutes, or until they are golden and puffed up.
- Once finished, let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
For maximum flavor, let bagels cool completely before adding toppings. Avoid overmixing the dough to prevent dense bagels.
