Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces Chicken fillets Tender, boneless cuts work best. If large, slice in half for even cooking.
  • 4 slices Ham Opt for high-quality deli ham. Smoked or black forest adds depth.
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese Use real Swiss cheese for the best melt.
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Panko offers extra crunch, regular ones are fine too.
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten; these help bind the breadcrumbs.
  • 1/4 cup Flour All-purpose flour or gluten-free flour if needed.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential for bringing out savory flavors.
  • 2 tbsp Oil for frying Olive or vegetable oil works well.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place each chicken fillet between plastic wrap and pound to about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. On each chicken fillet, lay 2 slices of ham and 1 slice of Swiss cheese. Season with pepper.
  4. Roll the chicken tightly from one end to the other and secure with toothpicks.
  5. Coat each roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and roll in breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry each roll for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. Transfer to a baking dish and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes.
  3. Remove toothpicks and serve hot, optionally with lemon wedges.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months. For best results, reheat in the oven.
