Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while you prepare the pan and batter.
- Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with a bit of melted butter or cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Topping and Baking
- In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar with ground cinnamon, then drizzle the melted butter over the batter and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, slice the bread with a serrated knife.
Notes
For best results, use unsalted butter and whole milk. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to three months. Consider adding chocolate chips, nuts, or swapping spices based on your preference.
