For the Sandwich
  • 4 slices slices of bread Hearty variety like sourdough or whole grain is recommended.
  • 2 pieces cooked chicken breasts, shredded Store-bought rotisserie chicken works well.
  • 1 piece avocado, sliced Look for ripe avocados for creaminess.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Opt for sharp or mild depending on taste preference.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Room temperature butter is easier to spread.
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt Add according to preference.
  • to taste Pepper Add according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Toss well to combine.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Place two slices of bread, butter side down, on a baking sheet.
  5. Divide the chicken mixture evenly on top of the bread slices.
  6. Layer the sliced avocado on top of the chicken.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the avocado.
  8. Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, butter side up.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
  3. Cut each sandwich in half for easier enjoyment and serve warm.

Notes

These sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
