Ingredients

Juicing Ingredients
  • 3.5 litres filtered water Use good-quality water for the best results.
  • 8 cups fresh cherries, pitted (optional) Fresh is always best; frozen can be used but fresh provides more flavor.
  • 6 red plums, pits removed Adds sweetness and depth to the juice.
  • 1 cup golden raisins Enhances sweetness without added sugars.
  • 1 apple, cored and halved Balances the sweetness of cherries and plums.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by adding 3.5 litres of filtered water to a large pot. Set it over medium heat and bring it to a gentle boil.
  2. Once the water is boiling, gently add the fresh cherries, red plums, golden raisins, and halved apple. Semi-cover the pot with a lid to maintain heat while allowing some steam to escape. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for 60 minutes.
  3. After an hour, use a sieve or kitchen spider to remove the stewed fruit. Set the fruit aside for later use.
  4. Let the liquid cool to room temperature. Strain it into a bowl or mason jars for a smooth cherry juice experience.
  5. Pop the strained juice into the fridge to chill. Serve over ice.

Notes

For customization, consider adding a splash of lemon or a hint of ginger. Store your cherry juice in airtight bottles in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze it for three months.
