- In a mixing bowl, whip the cold heavy cream on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes, until it begins to thicken.
- Gradually sprinkle in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue whipping on medium-high speed until you achieve stiff peaks, which should take another 2-3 minutes.
- If using the optional butter, beat it in a separate bowl until creamy before folding it into the whipped cream gently.
- Use the Chantilly Frosting immediately to decorate your desserts.
Notes
Chantilly Frosting is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Give it a quick whip before reusing. This frosting holds well for piping decorations.
