Ingredients

Frosting Base
  • 1 cup heavy cream Choose one with at least 36% fat for optimal whipping.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness while preventing crystallization.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure vanilla extract for the best taste.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (optional) For a more buttercream-like texture.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whip the cold heavy cream on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes, until it begins to thicken.
  2. Gradually sprinkle in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue whipping on medium-high speed until you achieve stiff peaks, which should take another 2-3 minutes.
  3. If using the optional butter, beat it in a separate bowl until creamy before folding it into the whipped cream gently.
  4. Use the Chantilly Frosting immediately to decorate your desserts.

Notes

Chantilly Frosting is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Give it a quick whip before reusing. This frosting holds well for piping decorations.
