Ingredients

For the dough and filling
  • 1 package crescent roll dough Use a high-quality brand like Pillsbury for a flaky texture.
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Philadelphia cream cheese is my go-to for a luscious filling.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar This sweetens the filling, so make sure it’s fresh for the best taste.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Pure vanilla adds wonderful depth to the flavors—always use the real deal if you can!
  • green drops food coloring (optional) A drop or two can add a fun pop of color to your filling.
  • as needed Fresh parsley or mint leaves for garnish (optional) These will resemble carrot tops and add a lovely touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the crescent roll dough, usually around 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer, blend until smooth and creamy. If you’d like, add a few drops of green food coloring to create a playful twist.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a flat surface and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines.
  4. Place a tablespoon of cream cheese filling at the wide end of each triangle. Roll the dough over the filling, starting at the wide end, shaping it into darling little carrot shapes as you go. Make sure to seal the edges well.
  5. Place the shaped rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each one for spreading.
Baking
  1. Bake according to the package instructions or until they’re golden brown and fragrant, usually around 10-12 minutes.
  2. Once cooled, garnish each roll with fresh parsley or mint leaves to resemble carrot tops. Serve them warm, and watch everyone light up!

Notes

Watch them closely in the last few minutes of baking; ovens can vary, and you want that perfect golden brown. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge; they should last about 3 days. You can also freeze them for up to 2 months.
