Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground turkey Look for lean turkey with a little fat for moisture.
  • 1 small onion (diced finely) Fresh onions enhance flavor; yellow or white varieties are preferable.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated) Use fresh for ultimate flavor! Parmigiano-Reggiano is recommended.
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise Adds moisture and keeps meatballs tender.
  • 1 tsp hot sauce Adjust to your spice preference!
  • 1 clove garlic (minced) Fresh garlic gives the best flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme Or 1 tsp fresh, chopped.
  • 1/2 tsp dried sage Or 1 tsp fresh, chopped.
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary Or 1 tsp fresh, chopped.
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp parsley (chopped) For garnish—fresh is best!

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, diced onion, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, hot sauce, minced garlic, thyme, sage, rosemary, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  2. If the mixture feels a bit wet, refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  3. Using your hands, roll the turkey mixture into balls about 1 1/4 inches in diameter.
  4. Lightly spray the surface of your air fryer basket with oil and preheat it to 400°F.
Cooking
  1. Place the meatballs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space for even cooking.
  2. Air fry for 10 minutes, turning the meatballs halfway through, until the center reaches 165°F.
  3. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Avoid overmixing your meat mixture to prevent tough meatballs. For extra crispiness, lightly spray the tops of the meatballs with oil before air frying. These meatballs can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 3 months.
