Preparation
- Trim any visible fat from the chicken thighs.
- Marinate the chicken in soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, garlic powder, and ginger for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Cooking
- Place the marinated chicken in a single layer in the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the remaining teriyaki sauce by boiling it in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened, about 10 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, brush the thickened sauce over the chicken and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Serving
- Brush with additional teriyaki sauce before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Marinate chicken a day in advance for deeper flavor. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
